How do we place dental implants?
A dental implant is a permanent solution for replacing one or multiple teeth. Our dental implant placement protocol is meticulous, and we never rush or take corners. Your treatment starts with a comprehensive consultation using advanced digital radiographs and 3D scans. These advanced tools help us visualize your dental anatomy to guide us on the optimal placement of your implants.
Sometimes, patients may need adjunct procedures to prepare the bone for implantology. For instance, patients with bone loss may require a bone graft or sinus lift to stabilize the bone for an implant. Other patients may need dental extractions to remove a troublesome tooth. Our full-service implant office administers pre-surgery and surgical services in-house for our patients. We don’t need to refer you to another specialist.
Dr. Karapetian places your dental implants with surgical precision to achieve optimal depth, angle, and positioning. All this is done while being careful not to harm the nearby nerves and sinus walls. The dentist also maximizes your comfort during surgery. We use potent anesthetics and possibly sedation dentistry for a comfortable experience.
After implant surgery, the implants will be left to heal and fuse with the jawbone through osseointegration. After 4-6 months, the results will be a stable foundation to support one or more prosthetic teeth. Once fusion occurs, you’ll visit our office to place an abutment, which acts as a base for your replacement teeth, which can be a dental crown, denture, or bridge. Your implant restoration is customized to match your tooth’s color, shape, and size, providing a seamless and natural-looking result.
What are our dental implant solutions?
Dental implants are versatile. They can replace one or multiple teeth in your mouth. Here are the possibilities we can achieve with dental implants.
- Single implant: The doctor places a titanium post in the area that was previously occupied by your tooth. Dental crowns are commonly used to restore single-tooth implants.
- Implant bridge: With one or two dental implants on either side of the edentulous gap, the dentist can replace 1-4 missing teeth in a row. Unlike traditional dentures anchored by natural teeth, implant-supported dentures are more stable and preserve the jawbone in the area placed.
- All-on-X: Do you need to replace an entire arch of missing teeth? It’s possible, and you don’t have to use ill-fitting dentures. All-on-X is an advanced teeth replacement solution for replacing multiple teeth with as few as 4-6 implants per arch! We use as few implants as possible to make your treatment affordable and less invasive. Unlike conventional dentures, the all-on-X technique is stable, long-lasting, and comfortable, giving you the reassurance and confidence of natural teeth.
