Dr. Christine Karapetian and her family

Dr. Christine Karapetian is a native of Northern Virginia with a knack for building natural rapport and long-lasting relationships with her patients. With multiple awards and honors, Dr. Karapetian is an experienced periodontist with special training in treating gums, jawbone, and other teeth-supporting structures. She owns Washington Periodontics and is a recognized expert in placing dental implants. Dr. Karapetian graduated from the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry, where she also received her certificate in Periodontics and served as chief resident for two years. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Karapetian is highly trained in advanced procedures such as implant dentistry, grafting, and complex surgical extractions. In her years of providing exceptional periodontics, Dr. Karapetian has earned a stellar reputation among her patients, as reflected in her 5-star reviews on Google and Yelp. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Karapetian is the former President of the Northern Virginia Dental Society and a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association. Her research interests include sinus augmentation, the relationship between stress and periodontal disease, and the impact of diabetes on periodontal disease. She has lectured on these topics at prominent dental meetings and runs a Spear Study Club to educate restorative dentists on interdisciplinary treatment plans.

As an Adjunct Faculty member at NYU College of Dentistry, she has participated in numerous international outreach programs, offering dental care to underserved communities. Locally, she has contributed to initiatives such as the Mission of Mercy Project and serves as Co-Chair of the Give Kids a Smile event, providing care to needy children.

During her free time, Dr. Karapetian enjoys exploring diverse culinary experiences, reading, spending quality time with family (including two children), and embarking on local adventures to discover new sites and attractions.
