Being a Periodontist Burke, VA residents trust, Dr. Christine Karapetian graduated from New York University College of Dentistry and also received a certificate in Periodontics from NYU. During her residency program, Dr. Karapetian had extensive training in implant dentistry and served as the chief resident for two years. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Education
Dr. Karapetian attended James Madison University and received a BS in Biology with a concentration in Immunology and Microbiology. Dr. Karapetian is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of Osseointegration. She is an Adjunct Faculty member of NYU College of Dentistry. As an NYU student, resident, and faculty member she has served on many International Outreach Programs, where Dentistry is provided for those who have no access to Dentists.
Locally, Dr. Karapetian has participated in the Mission of Mercy Project and is the Co-Chair of the Give Kids a Smile Event, where Dental care is provided to the less fortunate in our community.
Dr. Karapetian is the President of the Northern Virginia Dental Society and a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association. She has participated in several research projects ranging from the use of Sinus Augmentation Biomaterials in Surgeries, the Relationship Between Stress and Periodontal Disease, and Diabetes Mellitus and Periodontal Disease. Dr. Karapetian has lectured at several meetings, including the Northeastern Implant Society meetings, on the use of Biomaterials in Sinus Augmentation Surgeries. Dr. Christine Karapetian runs a Spear Study Club whose main goal is to educate restorative dentists on complex or interdisciplinary treatment plans.
Dr. Karapetian is a native of Northern Virginia, growing up in McLean. Dr. Karapetian is married to David Treff, a pediatric dentist, and has two children, Sosi and Masis. Dr. Karapetian enjoys reading and traveling. She is studying to become a better cook and is a novice foodie. As a trusted Periodontist in Burke, VA, Dr. Karapetian looks forward to meeting you!
